London/Dublin day 4

We took it "easy" today because today was a travel day.  We got some breakfast at the hostel then took off to the train station to board the train to Gatwick airport so that we could catch our flight to Dublin.  

We arrived Gatwick with no problems and went through security. I am very impressed with how security was handled-the line moved smoothly and quickly.  

First, there wasn't a person sitting there checking each person's ticket and photo ID.  That was done by a machine taking your picture when you scanned your boarding pass, then for the metal detector line, they had six areas for six people to stand in and get ready to go through, then go through and pick up their stuff. It moved very smoothly and effortlessly. We got to the central area and waited for our gate number to come on the screen.  While waiting, we tried to get online.  We signed up for the free wi di and then had to click on a link in our email, but we couldn't access our email because we didn't have internet access yet and we couldn't get Internet access without clicking on that link.  A flaw in that system haha

Eventually, we were able to get online without having to click on that link in the email.  

We flew to Dublin with no problems and had a good time analyzing the safety poster on the seat in front of us. 

We landed into Dublin and went through immigration.  We got a stamp for Ireland! It is even green!

It was rainy and windy when we arrived-50 degrees! Brr!  The rain and wind came and went during the day but it remained cool.  Definitely different than london's weather during the last few days.  

We boarded a bus to our hostel and tried to find it. We had a bit of difficulty so a lady asked us for if we needed some help.  She walked us around and tried to help us find it.  After walking around for about 15 minutes, we finally found it!  Dublin hospitality=5 stars!  every person we have stopped on the street asking for directions has helped us out!

We were supposed to meet some of Abby's coda friends at johnnie fox's pub, about one hour from our hostel but when we eached the bus stop that is supposed to take us there, we found out that the last bus of the day left that area 3 hours ago so we went back to downtown Dublin and got some food in our tummies. We found the "bleeding horse" pub and ate there. We both ordered a cheeseburger and I ordered a Guinness.  I was surprised at how much I liked the Guinness.  Learn something new about myself everyday!
